i-Probe Launches Pavement Monitoring Pilot with Central Florida
Expressway Authority
A six-month pilot will evaluate how connected vehicle-based data can deliver connuous and cost-eecve
pavement condion insights across the Central Florida Expressway Authority network.
February 20, 2026 – ORLANDO, Florida
i-Probe, in partnership with the Central Florida Expressway Authority (CFX), has launched a six-month
pilot program to implement its connected vehicle-based pavement monitoring system across the CFX
road network.
The pilot will evaluate the eecveness of i-Probe’s Road Condion Monitoring Big Data Analycs
Service (RoCoMo-BDAS), an innovave plaorm that connuously collects and transforms connected
vehicle data from regular road users into aconable pavement condion insights. RoCoMo-BDAS
leverages a large-scale network of consumer connected vehicles that transmit anonymous road
roughness data to a central system. The data is then processed into pavement condion maps and
maintenance intelligence that support proacve asset management.
Spanning CFX’s enre 125-mile expressway system, the study will assess how RoCoMo-BDAS vehicle-
derived data can address common road agency challenges, including cost control, stang and
equipment constraints, and operaonal eciency. Data collected through RoCoMo-BDAS will be
benchmarked against tradional pavement evaluaon methods, with performance assessed based on
consistency, reliability, and accuracy over me.
i-Probe was founded to help road agencies priorize maintenance decisions while maximizing limited
budgets and resources. Through this pilot and future deployments, i-Probe connues to advance
connected vehicle–based pavement monitoring, enabling more frequent, economical, and scalable
roadway condion insights across any network.
